I don't consider myself widely traveled. Outside of day trips to Mexico and Canada, I've never been beyond the borders of the United States.
I love road trips. I love watching the miles pass away. I also like airplanes. I like arriving.
I like beaches and forests, but mostly I like going places for a reason.
I like to take pictures
I'm not a professional photographer. In fact, I try to have my husband Grant take photos whenever I can.
I don't take photos for artistic reasons or to show them off later. I take photos so I can remember. One photo can bring back the exact details and emotions of the moment.
I take photos so I can share my memories with you.
I like fantastic things
And by fantastic I mean fantasy-like. I read fantasy and science fiction novels. I watch anime and listen to video game music. I like any excuse to dress up in costume, though I'm not much for acting.
Every Labor Day I go to Dragon*Con in Atlanta. It's the best four days of the year and I spend the other 361 waiting for it.
When I'm not traveling or photographing or being fantastic...
I build websites. I don't generally design them, though I can customize what already exists. My specialty is building the website, bringing the design to life and making it work. My favorite CMS is Joomla, since it can do just about anything and has a lot of existing components to work with. I work with XHTML/CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
I currently work at AdCo Advertising Agency in Peoria, Illinois, which is a super-fun place to work with super-cool people.
On the side, I do a little freelance, but mostly I work on websites for my church, First Christian Church, and for my mom and dad.
